Vision Racing Developments - Our Products

In this section we have up for sale all the specialist parts that we have developed. Our current range is primarily based on the E30 M42 which we have developed parts for on our super charger conversion. They include the COP (Coil On Plug) conversion plate, alternator relocation plate and polished throttles.

Please note that the below parts will require a certain level of mechanical knowledge and confidence to be fitted and completed successfully, some modification maybe required to existing componants to allow successful fitment. If you have any questions please do contact us before proceeding.

E30/E36 318iS Polished Throttle Body

M42 318iS highly polished throttle body. By polishing the throttle body it allows the air to enter the engine more efficiently. Throttle body work is primarily for improving engine pick up and response and may in some cases add a couple of BHP (TBC after dyno run). The prices below are for the polishing service and a complete polished body respectively We're currently working on its development on one of our development cars and will have something ready soon! Coupled with the induction hose, we're expecting some good results.

E30/E36 318iS COP Conversion Plate Kit

A common DIY mod for the 318iS is a Coil On Plug conversion. What it does is eliminate the remote coil packs mounted on the wheel arch and also the HT leads by relocating the coil packs directly onto the spark plug. A smart, simple and cost effective modification, it is a popular alternative when the HT leads are due for a change as it costs the same. What we supply in this kit is:

  • Water cut aluminium plate with brush finish
  • Full instructions on fitment and wiring

E30 M40/M42 Baffled Oil Sump

No, we haven't tried to explain astrophysics to it, we have designed a system of plates that are welded into the lower sump to prevent oil starvation under heavy braking/cornering. Lazer cut from 3mm aluminium, it features a horizontal plate and 2 vertical plates keeping oil around the oil pick up and dividing the lower sump into 3 sections. This will only fit the E30 M40/M42 engines, the E36 models have a different sump.

This item complies with the regulations of the following championships:

  • Toyo Tires Racing Saloons (regulation number: 5.7.10)
  • Production BMW (regulation number: 5.7.1.vi)

The system is on offer in two forms. Flat pack (you weld and fit) or complete (ready assembled and fitted to a sump pan). If you opt for the complete system we will offer you £20 for your old sump pan (providing it isn't damaged and unusable), we will also require 3 days to get the kit assembled and ready.

Rear Top Mount Reinforcement Plates

These rear strut top reinforcement plates fit most BMW models; E30, E36, Z3, E46 to name a few! They are water cut from 3mm stainless steel and are sold as a pair. Bolts straight onto the top mount and offers increased strength and resistance deformation and fatigue.

E30 M42 Alternator Relocation Plate

5mm thick aluminium plate and spacers machined to the highest tolerances. It frees up the alternator mounting points on the 'inlet' side of the engine for a super charger by utilising the air con mounting points on the 'exhaust' side of the engine. Requires rewiring/extension of alternator wiring.

  • Water cut and drilled aluminium plate
  • 4x spacers

Servicing and Workshop

All the items we sell can be fitted by us in our workshop. We also do general car servicing. Price depends on the car and which interval the car is at but in short, for every service we change:

  • Oil
  • Oil Filter
  • Fuel Filter
  • Also a thorough check of all components throughout the car

And for more major services, the above plus:

  • Air Filter
  • Spark Plugs
  • Brake Fluid
  • Clutch Fluid
  • Coolant

When the service is complete we will provide you with a receipt for the work carried out and parts used. We will also stamp and date your service book retaining your service history.
